Rhys Pugh, a former two time winner of the YMG Junior Masters, played a starring role in Great Britain & Ireland’s historic victory over the USA in the Walker Cup at Royal Aberdeen G.C.

The youngest player in the event, Rhys won all three of his matches, showing skill and maturity beyond his years in the very testing conditions.

Rhys, 17, started his golf with YMG at Vale of Glamorgan at the age of 9 completing the 32-week programme, and achieving Gold Level, before his two victories in the Junior Masters.

YMG wish Rhys success in the next stage of his golf career, which begins later this month when he starts university in the USA on a golf scholarship.

Young golfers hoping to follow in Rhys’ footsteps can do so by entering this years YMG Junior Masters at Hellidon Lakes, Northamptonshire, on 23^rd October.
