Entries open for Junior Wales Open

Dateline: March 2006

The Junior Wales Open, presented by Coca-Cola is inviting talented boy and girl junior golfers to compete in regional qualifiers for The Junior Wales Open, to be held across Wales between the 17th and 20th April.

Each competitor must hold a handicap certificate but does not have to belong to a club. Maximum handicaps are 36 for girls and 28 for boys.

18 hole qualifiers
Qualifying events will be played over 18 holes and competitors will be split into four categories according to age. The winners from each region will go head to head in the National Final held on the Saturday of The Celtic Manor Wales Open, a leading European Tour event.

Whilst the top names in golf battle it out on the Roman Road course, budding juniors will compete on the renowned Wentwood Hills championship course. In the evening, finalists will have a chance to meet their heroes at the Player's Barbecue, where a top professional will present the champions with their prizes.

Loctions
Regional Qualifiers will take place at Builth Wells on 17th April; St Pierre on 18th April; Royal St Davids at Harlech on 19th April; and Carmarthen on 20th April. Final to be held on 3rd of June at The Celtic Manor Resort.
