YMG Junior Masters
dates announced
Dateline: May 2006
The schedule for the YMG Junior Masters
2006 tournament has been announced.
The tournment, which is open to all YMG junior golfers
aged 16 years or under (on 1st January 2006), will visit
14 venues up and down the UK and Ireland, building to
a National Final in the early autumn. The tournament
kicks off on Monday 24 July in Northern Ireland and
will be followed by three regional qualifiers in Ireland,
before moving across the Irish Sea to the South West
& Wales qualifier in South Gloucestershire.
Scotland, Hertfordshire, Oxfordshire, East Yorkshire,
Dorset, Essex, Middlesex and Lancashire will follow,
with the final qualifier taking place on Friday 25 August
at Morley Hayes in Derbyshire.
Extensive programme..."
"It's an extensive programme of qualifiers for this
year's YMG Junior Masters," confirmed YMG's Dave Gosling,
"but we wanted to give as many boys and girls as possible
the chance to compete in the tournament, which is why
we have added extra events and venues this year."
Last year saw some 1,400 junior golfers between the
ages of 4 and 16 compete for a place in the National
Final, and this year the event will attract even more.
"Welcome to take part..."
"Every YMG Junior Member is welcome to take part in
the tournament," said Dave Gosling "and they are guaranteed
to have a brilliant day whichever event you choose to
take part in."
He continued: "Entries open on Monday May 2, when the
entry form will be available for download from the YMG
Junior Golf mwebsite.
"However, we wanted to announce the dates for the events
as soon as possible so that junior golfers and their
families can start to plan their summer schedule."
