Golfbidder.com backs YMG junior golf
Dateline: August 2006
Golfbidder.com, the biggest buyer and
seller of used golf clubs in Europe, has declared its
support for junior golf by backing the highly-acclaimed
Young Masters Golf (YMG) Junior Golf Programme.
The online company is joining YMG to help attract even
more young golfers into the game and the partnership
is planning a number of exciting joint activities.
Great job
Speaking about the link between YMG and Golfbidder.com,
managing director Liam Robb said: "We think YMG is doing
a great job in opening up the game to more juniors and
we applaud their work in helping more and more club
Pros to welcome more newcomers to the game."
Golfbidder began life in 1997 as a shop which specialised
in buying and selling used golf clubs. Its success encouraged
founder Liam Robb to broaden the concept to the internet
- and Golfbidder is now one of the busiest online golf
retailers in Europe. The company sources most of its
stock from hundreds of PGA club Pros around the UK
Meanwhile, the YMG Junior Golf programme has already
introduced more the 35,000 youngsters to the game with
its structured golf training, which is currently being
offered at over 600 golf clubs and facilities and coached
by almost 1,300 PGA Pros throughout the UK and Ireland.
Europe's largest
Based in Surrey, Golfbidder is renowned for the services
it provides to Pros, offering a guaranteed price on
used clubs, thus removing the traditional risk when
accepting part-exchanges. It is also the official club
exchange of the Professional Golfer's Association. The
company is now planning to extend its services still
further to include junior golf equipment, providing
YMG youngsters, their parents and YMG-affiliated PGA
Pros with trade-in and guaranteed buy-back schemes designed
to help expand the market for junior gear.
Broaden appeal
Speaking about the new partnership, YMG managing director
Dave Gosling said: "Golfbidder's support for YMG is
part of a genuine desire to help junior golf and broaden
the appeal of the game."
He continued: "We share the determination to provide
new and exciting ways to help PGA Pros welcome more
people to this great game of golf and we are really
looking forward to working together."
